Strymon Deco V2 Tape Saturation & Doubletracker

Bring the warmth and movement of vintage tape recording to your pedalboard. Deco V2 combines tape-style saturation and compression with doubletracking effects, from subtle thickening and chorus to through-zero flanging, slapback, and tape echo. This listing is for a new-condition Deco V2.

Use Tape Saturation as an always-on sweetener, turn it up for tape-style overdrive, or combine it with the Doubletracker to add depth and motion to your parts.

Tape saturation and voicing

  • Classic voice models the response of two-track mastering reel-to-reel machines.
  • Cassette voice adds auto-level-control-style compression for a fuller, compressed response.
  • Saturation, Volume, and dedicated Tone controls shape drive, output level, and brightness.
  • Separate footswitches engage Tape Saturation and Doubletracker independently.

Doubletracking, modulation, and echo

  • Lag Time adjusts the offset between two virtual tape decks: tape flanging at -0.3–3 ms, chorus at 3–50 ms, slapback at 50–150 ms, and tape echo at 150–500 ms.
  • Blend adjusts the relative mix of the Reference Deck and Lag Deck.
  • Wobble adds random tape-speed modulation.
  • Sum, Invert, and Bounce routing options change phase and routing, including stereo ping-pong or mono double-echo effects.
  • Hold the Doubletracker footswitch for an instant through-zero Auto-Flange effect.
  • Wide Stereo mode creates an adjustable spread between the two decks.

V2 upgrades and control

  • Full MIDI control via EXP/MIDI or USB-C, with 300 MIDI preset locations.
  • MIDI Clock synchronization for Lag Time, saved per preset.
  • Dedicated Tone knob and Classic/Cassette voice switch.
  • Premium discrete Class A JFET input circuit and ARM DSP processing.
  • Selectable relay-switched true bypass or buffered bypass.
  • Studio Mode adds 10 dB of headroom for higher-level sources such as keyboards, synthesizers, active basses, and effects loops.

Controls

Saturation, Volume, and Tone control the Tape Saturation side. Lag Time, Blend, and Wobble control the Doubletracker. The Voice switch selects Classic or Cassette, and the Blend Type switch selects Sum, Invert, or Bounce. Live Edit functions include Low Trim, Wide Stereo Mode, Doubletracker Boost/Cut, and Auto-Flange Time.

Connections

  • Single high-impedance TRS input with rear-panel Mono/Stereo switch. A TRS adapter cable is required for stereo input.
  • Independent low-impedance left and right TS outputs. Use Out L for mono.
  • EXP/MIDI input supports a TRS expression pedal, MiniSwitch, MultiSwitch Plus, or TRS MIDI connection.
  • USB-C for computer-based MIDI control and firmware updates.
