Pa5X comes packed with thousands of inspiring Sounds and hundreds of fresh Styles, all instantly accessible through an inviting workflow. A completely new front panel featuring an assignable Pad Matrix and Mixer section, multicolored LED buttons, and a huge tilt-able touchscreen puts you in control of your music making experience at all times. The Pa5X features a sturdy aluminum body and genuine wooden side-panels. The 61-key version features semi-weighted keys with aftertouch for expressive control in any playing situation.

Modern and Streamlined User Interface

At the center of Pa5X is a large 8" tiltable touchscreen with a completely redesigned GUI. Multicolored LED buttons on the control panel are color-matched to the display, making navigation intuitive for home musicians, studio producers, and live performers alike.

Powerful EDS-XP Sound Engine

Pa5X introduces the EDS-XP (Enhanced Definition Synthesis – Expanded) sound engine with 24 stereo Oscillators and 160 voices of polyphony. New features include Round-Robin drum performance, Smooth Sound Transition, and Sound-Controller 3 functionality — delivering an unprecedented level of sonic realism exclusive to Pa5X.

Realtime Controllers

A fully programmable control section with 9 buttons and 9 sliders lets you assign any function — from mixer volume to drawbar settings, microphone mute to bass inversion. Korg's DNC (Defined Nuance Control) technology gives you precise control over the most subtle nuances of every instrument.

Advanced Chord Recognition System

Pa5X's chord recognition features an Expert mode crafted around modern jazz piano playing styles. It scales from single-finger chord triggering to full expert voicings, with automatic harmonization and a chord sequencer for rich arrangements in any genre.

Smooth Transitions Between Sounds, Styles and Songs

Smooth Sound Transition (SST) technology allows seamless transitions between Sounds, Styles and Songs without interruption — sounds and effects fade away naturally as you move to the next element.

Cutting-Edge Dual Crossfading Players

Pa5X can play two Styles, MIDI files, or MP3 files simultaneously via the patented XDS Crossfade Dual Sequencer/Players. Mix them with the crossfader or queue the next song while the current one plays. Lyrics, Chords, Score and Markers display on the internal screen or an external monitor via HDMI.

Creating Styles and Songs

Create your own Styles and record MIDI or MP3 Songs with detailed per-event editing. The full-featured 16-track Sequencer handles complex arrangements, while a sophisticated transposition table adapts sequences to any chord you play.

The SongBook: A Music Library Always With You

Save Songs and Styles into the onboard SongBook and sync with external score readers on a tablet. Organize into Set Lists by show, singer, or genre. Selecting a SongBook entry instantly loads the Sounds, Style, Song, effects, and chord sequence.

A Complete Sound Library

From ultra-realistic acoustic instruments to vintage electric keyboards, synth classics, and special effects for media production — Pa5X covers it all. Includes sounds from the SV-2 Stage Vintage Piano, Kronos, and Nautilus. New Round Robin Drum Kits ensure no two hits sound alike. The onboard sampler supports WAV, AIFF, and SF2 import.

Up to 10 Insert FX, 3 Master FX, and 1 Finalizer per Player, plus Waves Audio® MaxxAudio® Suite mastering effects at the outputs for a polished, production-ready sound.

Dedicated Microphone and Guitar Inputs

Connect mic and guitar simultaneously. Shift Audio vocal processing delivers four-voice harmonies, Auto Pitch, compressor, EQ, and gate. The independent guitar input features vintage amp and pedal simulators with up to 4 insert-effect slots per preset.
