Four Class-A Console Mic Preamps

The iD44 MKII incorporates a Class-A microphone preamp design developed by legend David Dearden and refined over 20+ years. The circuitry delivers ultra-low noise, low distortion, and high common mode rejection at all gain levels — the same discrete circuit found in Audient's renowned ASP8024-HE recording console.

Analog I/O

Four Neutrik XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs and two harmonically rich JFET DI inputs handle everything from condenser mics to guitars and basses. Two pairs of balanced 1/4" stereo speaker outputs (main + alt) and two independent Class-AB headphone outputs provide flexible monitoring for any setup. Each analog input includes switches for 48V phantom power, a -10 dB pad, and a 12 dB/octave high-pass filter at 100 Hz.

Balanced Inserts

Two fully balanced insert points let you integrate outboard compressors or vintage EQs prior to conversion. The insert return also provides direct access to the A/D converters for the cleanest possible signal path — ideal for print-backs.

16-Channel Digital I/O Expansion

Two TOSLINK optical inputs accept ADAT or S/PDIF signals, enabling up to 16 additional inputs via ADAT-equipped external mic preamps or A/D converters (e.g. Audient ASP880). Two TOSLINK optical outputs send stereo S/PDIF or up to 16 channels of ADAT to external mixers, D/A converters, or headphone distribution systems. A BNC Wordclock output keeps all digital devices locked to the iD44's master clock.

ScrollControl

With a touch of a button, the iD44's volume encoder becomes a virtual scroll wheel — giving you hands-on control of DAW faders, plug-in parameters, and automation without touching a mouse.

Console-Style Monitor Control

Dedicated talkback, cut, dim, polarity, mono, speaker select, and cue mix monitoring are all accessible from the front panel. Three programmable function buttons let you assign your most-used monitoring functions for instant hardware access. The software mixer supports up to four stereo artist cue mixes, custom channel naming, layout presets, and standalone mode presets.

Built-In Talkback

Use any computer audio source — built-in mic or USB microphone — as your talkback mic, freeing up valuable preamp channels for recording.
