Audient EVO 16 Overview

Aimed at musicians, producers, podcasters, and content creators, the Audient EVO 16 is a 24-in/24-out USB audio interface designed to make recording studio-quality audio easy and cost-effective. Eight award-winning EVO preamps with 58 dB of gain, advanced converter technology with ultralow latency, and a staggering 121 dB dynamic range deliver professional-grade audio performance across the board. Intelligent Smartgain automatically sets mic levels, the Motion UI provides an immersive hardware experience, and extensive analog and digital I/O handles even the biggest sessions.

The EVO 16 is designed to look stylish on your desktop or in a rack. Superbright backlit LED lighting ensures visibility in the darkest studios. A built-in power supply enables standalone operation, and a solid-steel chassis ensures it's built to last.

Eight EVO Mic Preamps

Backed by 25 years of engineering experience, the EVO preamp delivers accurate, clean, true-to-source audio with ultralow distortion, a noise-free signal, and 58 dB of gain. Digitally controlled precision lets you set gain down to the decibel, and stereo pairs can be linked for matched levels.

Two JFET Instrument Inputs

EVO's harmonically rich JFET instrument input circuit replicates the input stage of a classic valve amplifier, providing an ideal sonic foundation for guitars and basses. Two 1/4" Hi-Z DI inputs are located on the front panel.

High-Performance Converters

With 121 dB of dynamic range, EVO 16's converter technology ensures you hear your audio accurately — helping you make confident creative decisions, identify issues, and improve your recording and mixing game.

Smartgain

Smartgain listens to all activated inputs and automatically sets gains for all eight channels in seconds. Simply set up your mics, hit Smartgain, and press record.

Motion UI

The Motion UI simplifies interaction with the interface through an ultraclear backlit color IPS LCD screen, one-knob centralized control, per-channel status display, full-color metering, and a customizable F-button for your most-used monitoring function.

Flexible I/O and Routing

Eight balanced line outputs support multiple speaker sets, outboard gear sends, or headphone amp distribution. Two optical ports support both ADAT (up to 16 channels of expansion) and S/PDIF. A BNC Wordclock output keeps multiple digital devices locked to EVO 16's master clock.

Advanced Monitor Control

ALT monitor switching, mono summing, and Talkback are all accessible from the front panel. Talkback uses any computer audio source as the talkback mic, freeing up preamps for recording.

Audio Loopback

Loopback channels route audio from computer applications back into other apps — ideal for recording computer audio, video calls, or gaming streams.

Portable — Desktop or Rack

At just over 1U with non-slip rubber feet, EVO 16 works on your desktop, under your laptop, or rack-mounted with optional free rack ears (available upon product registration).
